We got tired of jumping between so many websites and tools just to do one thing, so we put it all here. See exactly how your deck plays before you ever shuffle it.

We do not sell anything and we are not paid for this. Secret Lair is sold by Wizards of the Coast.
Not out yet
Not legal in a game yetCards from sets that have not been released. You can look at them, search them and build with them. They just are not legal in a real game until their set comes out. We keep saying so on the deck itself.

Never played Commander? Start here.
Commander is a way of playing Magic: The Gathering with a deck of exactly 100 cards. One of them is your commander, a legendary creature that leads your deck. It doesn't start in your deck. It waits in its own spot called the command zone, so it's always there when you want it, and if it dies you can put it back there and play it again. The other 99 cards all have to be different from each other. Only basic lands can repeat.
Your commander decides what the rest of your deck can hold. Magic has five colours: white, blue, black, red and green. A card can only go in your deck if every colour on it is one your commander already has. Pick a green and white commander, and the other 99 cards have to be green, white or have no colour at all. Honestly, that one choice does most of the deck building for you.
A game is usually three or four people at one table, each starting at 40 life instead of the usual 20. Games run long and everybody talks. The deck with an actual plan is usually the one still standing at the end.
Why we made this
I made this site because I fell in love with Magic: The Gathering and finally found a group of people who love it just as much as I do. I scoured social media and Reddit for the most common complaints and feature requests, and I did my best to add them all here.
What you can do here
Start with a list, or with nothing at all
Paste a decklist from anywhere and it turns into a working deck right away. No list yet? Session Zero asks you a few plain questions about how you like to play and hands you commanders that fit.
See what your deck actually does
We read every deck card by card: what it's trying to do, whether your lands can actually pay for your spells, and which cards break the format's rules. That way your table can agree on a game before anyone shuffles.
Look up the stuff nobody explains
Every card is labelled with what it does on its own, and those labels are grouped into the game plans they build: 48 archetypes, 131 themes and 207 tags, each one written out in plain words. There's also a glossary for the jargon.
The commanders people play the most
We counted these from decks built over the last two years. All 3,481 legal commanders are on the commanders page.
Or start somewhere else
- Commanders: all 3,481 of them, A to Z.
- Preconstructed decks: 176 ready-made decks you can buy and play right out of the box, with every card in each one listed.
- Archetypes: 48 whole game plans, described by how the deck wants to win.
- Themes: 131 things a deck can be built around, like a creature type or one idea the cards share.
- Tags: 207 single things one card can do on its own. These are the pieces archetypes are built from.
- Brackets: the five power levels, and how to tell which one your deck belongs in.
- Glossary: every word the game uses without ever explaining it.
